On the road again…

Well we have had a few bumps in the road. We had several trailers that didn’t work out and we finally have a class B van to travel in. I did a few local runs with college roommates to wineries to check out if everything would work well. I have to say I actually love it. It’s very easy to back up. I only need two parking spots. I can fit into most regular gas stations. Best of all, there is very little space inside so when my mom comes along she can’t buy out the stores.

We are heading back to Alaska! It’s been 12 years and we would like to go see a few places we were unable to visit. This time we will visit the state capital, get our national park passport stamped a few more times and take a couple of ferries. I am about 21 days behind in posting where we have been so let me catch y’all up.

Our first night we stayed at a campground outside Cleveland Ohio. While it was super convenient to get to, my mom had an ice cold shower while mine was steaming hot. Definitely will pass on staying in the future. Our first bump in the road was that I could not get the box on the back of the van. This was critical to open as that’s where our water, electrical and levelers are located. Thankfully our RV has solar with a lithium battery. We were able to use the ac and keep our food cold over night. We were down to 27% the next morning and we simply started the van up to charge up the battery and headed to a lock smith.

The locksmith in Maple Heights, OH was fantastic. He was able to force open the lever. Turns out the handle lever is faulty so we are ordering a new one. I can still lock one of the levers and it’s enough to prevent anyone from stealing items. We were happy to continue onwards

Our second night we stayed at the Chicago KOA and learned that you should always take the middle stall. They seam to always have better pressure. We chatted with the site hosts and they were just lovely.

Next up was Miles City KOA in Montana. Mom and I did stop to get another national park off the list. We met some great people at the Theodore Roosevelt

Next up we stopped at St. Mary in Glacier National Park. We were here two nights for a break in high mileage driving. It’s is here where we had another bump in the road. I didn’t realize you couldn’t be longer than 21 ft to drive on road to the sun through the park.

Soon we will cross into Canada
